About Eureka Poker Tour
PokerStars is pleased to announce Season 3 of the Eureka Poker Tour, which once again promises to bring the big game experience to the Central & Eastern Europe. The inaugural event took place in Prague, Czech Republic in March 2011, where a prize pool in excess of €200,000 was reached. Next up, the tour visited Slovenia, Bulgaria and Croatia and the special Deep Stack event at the EPT8 event in Prague served as the tour’s Grand Final at the end of the year. In Season 1, winners took home a grand total of almost €1,200,000 in prizes.
The Eureka Poker Tour is one of the first PokerStars sponsored tours to not use a geographical name. The tour takes place in several locations in Eastern and Central Europe, but that was a bit too much of a mouthful to say, so it was decided to use something more abstract for the name.
In 2012, revisited Croatia and Bulgaria and in October the tour touched down in Latvia for the first time. The season concluded in the Czech Republic where the final Eureka event of the year took place in Prague, December 5-9. The EPT Prague Main Event took place in the same venue. This combined festival was a real treat at the end of the year, with over two weeks of exciting poker events held.
In Season 3 Eureka will be returning to some of the popular destinations, such as Golden Sands, Bulgaria in July and Prague in December. As the first stop for Season 3 Eureka will visit Czech Republic again, this time in Rozvadov – a small ‘poker’ town close to German border. More exciting stops will be announced here soon. The details for upcoming Eureka events will be announced here first, so keep checking back for all the details.
We’re looking forward to see you again soon and wish you all the best at the tables!
